The most consistent theme of Pelosi’s incumbency has been relentless spending. Bailouts, stimulus packages, the purchase of toxic assets, poorly budgeted health care proposals, not to mention the never ending wars in Afghanistan and Iraq where funding has been passed unchallenged ever since President Obama has taken office. Her vocal opposition to war during the Bush years has been silenced by her allegiance to platform over principle.

Conservative angst toward Pelosi’s irresponsible congressional leadership is not confined to the right. Liberals are outraged with her “bi-partisan” compromises, and fed up with her total lack of integrity.

Nancy Pelosi’s voting record is not consistent with her constituency, nor the rest of the country. She continues to earn dismally low approval ratings while being re-elected term after term. No candidate has had the nerve to face this woman’s arrogance head to head.

Hypocrisy is Pelosi’s modus operandi. Voting against wars to appease her mostly liberal constituency, while later voting to fund them. Criticizing cruel and unusual punishment, only to find out that she had been championing the use of harsh interrogation techniques throughout the Bush Presidency. Few liberals realize that Nancy Pelosi voted for the Patriot Act knowing full well the extent of the bill’s intrusion on the civil liberties of American citizens.

Pelosi plays the game of politics with cunning prowess, but it is an inside game we are not privy to.  The legislation she has helped pass worries many Americans that our nation is no longer free.
